Oakham Gallery have specialised in the wonderful, traditional oil paintings produced in Europe and England in the 19th and early 20th century since 1982.
With the recent arrival of Mr James Kayll, we have opened a second location, where we have brought together some of the more important and successful living British and Flemish artists in our new contemporary gallery. We hold regular single artist contemporary exhibitions, many are complete sell-outs by the opening night. Please enjoy browsing through the paintings in our current exhibition or look through the archives of past shows.
Within our 19th Century traditional gallery we hold an extensive inventory of landscape, ever popular Venetian scenes, still life, Dutch Romantic, and elegant and charming genre works. We invest in our own paintings, and all have been selected for their highest standards of condition, quality, subject matter and aesthetics and many represent the very best of each artist’s oeuvre, a critical factor when building a collection with an eye also on long term investment.
Strong demand for works by the great masters of traditional European painting continues and their best examples are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
The best way to fully appreciate a painting is to see it hanging in your home or office, so we are always happy to bring paintings for you to try, and to discuss lighting and hanging. Often it is only when seen hanging in their proper settings, can their full aesthetic beauty be fully appreciated. We are usually available to visit your home or office at your convenience.
If you would like to receive a high quality photograph of a particular painting or our beautifully produced catalogue, please phone, fax or e-mail.
The selection caters to both the seasoned buyer and the new collector. Please do call in and see us at either gallery when you are in London to browse around. You will be given a warm welcome.
